We offer full service and fishing expertise to make your trip as easy and as fun as possible. Currently we are operating out of Mana on Wellington's west coast. Its a 20 minute drive north of the city
8HR TRIPS Most of our day trips travel out wide to target hapuku (groper) on the turn of tide as well as inshore fishing for snapper, kingfish, trevallly, gurnard, bluecod, tarakihi and various other species. During the summer months there is a good chance of picking up albacore tuna and even a shot at a marlin! Day trips normally start at 8am and are back in around 4pm (subject to change with weather or tide). Where we fish depends on the weather conditions on the day. We try our best to keep everyone comfortable and are happy to fish sheltered water if anyone is suffering from sea sickness. I will let you know the day before and on the day what the weather conditions are likely to be. Prices $3000 for 10 people including tackle and lunch. We can extra people at $200 each $300pp - share cost trips for individuals including lunch and tackle Number of passengers (not including crew) - 40ft boat takes up to 12 people, 50ft boat takes 18 people
6HR TRIPS On these trips we normally fish the inshore coastal area or the 60 - 100 mtr mark through the turn of the tide (if its not too windy or swelly). Trips normally start at 8am or 12pm but this can change with tide or weather. Hunters bank and Boom rock are our favourite spots on this trip. We have time to get to better spots than the 4hr trip so there is more chance getting better fishing on these trips. Snapper and kingfish are prime targets on this trip but we can also catch bluecod, tarakihi, warehou, trevally, gurnard, trumpeter, john dory and other species. We can go deepwater fishing on a 6hr trip but we recommend the 8hr option for that kind of fishing. 4HR TRIPS These trips have become really popular over the last few years. One reason is that we hardly ever have to cancel them, usually we catch plenty of fish and there is always a calm spot to fish inside Mana Island and then everyones happy if its a 'bit lumpy' out wide. We often fish Pukerua bay in the north or the south of Mana down towards Boom rock. We normally start at 8am or 1pm but this could change with thew weather or tide conditions. These are the common fish we catch - snapper, tarakihi, bluecod, trevally, gurnard and kahawai with kingfish, warehou & blue mackerel and other species turning up from time to time to keep things interesting. Prices $2000 for 10 people including tackle and lunch. We can take extra people at $100 each $200pp - Share cost trips for individuals - includes tackle and lunch Number of pasengers - 40ft boat takes up to 12 people, 50ft boat takes up to 30 people inside Plimmerton point or 22 outside of Plimmerton point.
OTHER INFORMATION SHARE COST TRIPS - are subject to weather and getting 8 + people on board and need to be paid in full prior to the day (refundable if I cancle the trip). GIFT VOUCHERS - We sell gift vouchers which the recipient can redeem at their own convenience. These can be done over the phone, email or online, or at our Rongotai shop. Once booking a trip we have a 48hr no refund policy in case you pull out and we dont have the numbers to get the trip going. We dont refund gift vouchers but you can redeme them for bait and tackle at our shop. WE PROVIDE - Expert help, bait & berley, tea & coffee, tap water, a meal or snacks, filleting & bags. YOU NEED TO BRING - warm clothing, sunglasses, sturdy shoes, food and drink (optional) THE CATCH - It's our policy on share cost trips to split the catch evenly with everyone on board. On a group booking you can split the catch any way you like DEPARTURE - MANA CRUISING CLUB - 6A PASCOE AVE, PAREMATA Is located by travelling north on state highway 59 until Paremata then turning left into Ngatitoa Domain just before BP mana. Turn left into Pascoe Avenue and left into the Marina. We are on Peir A - turn left when you get to the Marina and drive 100mtrs and park left of the security gate CONFIRMATION OF WEATHER - Is done by phone or text the previous day. We need the ph # of the contact person. If you havnt heard from me by 7pm the night before please ring me on 0274439750 DEPOSITS are required to confirm a booking (refundable if weather is bad or if we can rebook the trip to another group). Deposits are only refundable if the weathers bad or for unforseen maintenance or health issues. Online https://petelambfishing.com/products/charters PAYMENTS are due before we depart on the charter and can be done online, by bank transfer or by cash on the day (or at our shop in Rongotai) ALCOHOL POLICY - Due to health and safety issues in the past we are currently allowing passengers to consume a maxium of two beers on the way home from the fishing ground. We don't alow anyone intoxicated on the boat and dont allow usually alcohol comsumption until the last hour of the trip. FISHING TACKLE - We supply good quality tackle (rods and reels) with traces, lures and sinkers. If you loose a rod/reel over the side you may be liable for the replacement cost. If you are bringing your own tackle we suggest the following - Inshore fishing 10 - 16oz sinkers, 2/O to 6/O re curve hooks, 50 - 80lb trace and 30 - 50lb braid. Deepwater fishing 30oz sinkers, 10/O - 16/O circle hooks, 150 - 300lb trace, 80lb braid. Kingi fishing - a reel with 15kgs of drag and 80-100lb braid main line. Soft baiting and slowjigs - light tackle up to 10kg and weighted lures / jigheads up to 100gms.
